A Fifty Years Old Camera in the French Alps

This is the Zeiss Ikon Contina 1a, Model 526/24. It is a 35mm camera that was manufactured in Stuttgart, Germany, from 1954 to 1958.

I discovered this camera in the basement of our family cabin; it belonged to my dad and was his very first camera.

I decided to load a roll of Ilford HP5 Plus film and take it with me on a steep hike to Lac du Charvin in Haute-Savoie, 74.
