Here we go again: Fuji 200 vs Kodak Gold 200

Here we go again. After comparing Fuji 400 and Kodak Ultramax 400 this past summer, I took advantage of the Fall colours to test out Fuji 200 against Kodak Gold 200 to see if these peculiar Fuji stocks are indeed repackaged Kodak film.

In my last article, I mentioned getting different results from Fuji 400 and Kodak Ultramax 400. Contrast and colours were distinct; one stock often appeared warmer with deeper colours. Both socks were shot on the same cameras: a Nikon F3 and a Nikon F3T. Regarding lenses, I used a Nikkor 28mm f/2.8 AIS against the Nikkor 35mm f/2 AIS. Both lenses were from the same generation and produced similar colour renditions. Finally, Since I mainly shot seascape, I used two identical circular polarizers on my lenses. If you haven’t read that article, I strongly suggest you take a peak because it’s important for what follows when I compare Fuji 200 against Kodak Gold 200.
